July, 4 Train to Denali

Yesterday was a busy day for traveling! I woke up early to ride the Alaskan Railroad to my next destination.

I took the Denali Star Train from Anchorage all the way to Denali National Park, which was an eight hour ride. The train chugged along slowly through the scenic rolling mountains. Lush evergreen trees with pops of purple Fire Weed lined the tracks. Snow capped peaks dipped and were cut by racing rivers.  I lay back in my chair and enjoyed the scenery pass over me.

When I arrived I was full of excitement from being in a new place, but also to see Spencer. He picked me up, showed me around, and introduced me to all of the kind people at Denali Outdoor Center.
